Southern Arizona Resources

The Arc of Tucson, the local chapter of the national organization of and for people with developmental disabilities and their families. It is devoted to improving support and services for people with developmental disabilities and their families.

AZ Links, is Arizona’s Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC), created to help Arizona Seniors, People with Disabilities, Caregivers and Family Members locate resources and services that meet their needs.

Crecer Con Amor, Somos un grupo de padres hispanos que tenemos hijos con sindrome de Down. Las edades de ellos oscilan entre bebé s recien nacidos y niños de 15 años. Nuestra misión es dar apoyo emotional, educación e information a las familias Hispanas.

DIRECT Center for Independence, is a consumer-directed, community-based advocacy organization that promotes independent living and offers a variety of programs for all people with disabilities.

Down Syndrome Connection, their mission: To support and inspire individuals with Down Syndrome, their families and our community, by providing information, resources, and conections to people who share with them the joys and unique challenges of loving someone with Down Syndrome.

Exceptional Student Services, their mission: Enhancing Arizona's Parent Networks (EAPN) is the collaborative effort of parent groups, organizations and agencies that believe all children with special needs and their families should have access to information, support, and training.

Pilot Parents of Southern Arizona, their mission: Committed to providing encouragement and support to families who have children with special needs so that their children can reach their maximum potential within the family and society.


University of Arizona, Tucson

Research Group, Researchers in the Department of Psychology at the University of Arizona are teaming together to develop a research group devoted to understanding the cognitive difficulties faced by individuals with Down syndrome (DS). The Down Syndrome Research Group (DSRG) is lead by Regents Professor Lynn Nadel and Dr. Jamie Edgin.
